Maximize your energy without maxing out | 9 ways to maintain your energy | 7 signs your energy is very imbalanced and 7 solutions to fix it

This is a good time to be born. Women have the ability to create a life and career that caters to their highest aspirations. As someone who is all for living a life that involves doing work I love, finding a healthy work-life balance is a necessity. I work with only women and I notice that they give so much energy to things that do not return the favor. We as women can’t deny that our bodies need more rest than our counterparts. Our bodies need rest and when we maintain our energy we can maximize our goals in a way that is healthy and fulfilling.

In this article, I will share the 9 best ways to maintain your energy. When you become sensitive to your energy you can develop tools to gauge your energy and the tools to maximize your energy without maxing out. By the end of this article, you will have an understanding of how to gauge your energy so that you can remain in good health, maintain meaningful connections in your relationships, and still feel passionate about what you do and how you live.

Embracing these are the 9 habits that will help you maintain your energy:

1 Stop complaining.

This one is hard because sometimes complaining is an unhealthy collective trait that brings people together, but believe me it is also tearing us apart from the inside-out. One thing I’ve learned to do in the work environment—because let's face it, people complain, is to shrug it off, laugh it off, or approach it as an opportunity to apply problem-solving logic. Complaining becomes a cycle of negative thoughts. End it, or detach from it before it feeds and becomes too big of a beast to tame.

2 Go to sleep

Staying awake creates a sleep debt and energetically prepares you to drag the rest of your day. If you struggle with getting a full night rest, set the intention every night that you are going to get the best night of rest. One hour before bed, create a relaxing nighttime routine.

3 Eat good, drink lots

Eat mostly veggies and fruits. Veggies and fruits provide the human body with an incredible source of energy and keep the gut flowing, which regulates our moods, hormones, physical stamina, etc. Don’t overdo it on fruit, though it is healthy glucose, it’s glucose nonetheless. Water also keeps everything flowing so don’t skimp out on it. Plant-based and vegan may be a trend but it provides proven results. Once I transformed my diet, I had a healthier mindset to build my business and the energy to maintain a busier lifestyle.

3 Rest Periods

The body will always let you know it needs rest. When you start to ache anywhere this is a tell-tell sign. Don’t wait for that ache to turn into a doctor visit. Commit to your rest and tune into your body. People think doing nothing is lazy, but doing nothing is the other aspect of life that when done well will keep you calm and nourished. This energy will also reflect in your environment.

4 If you don’t wanna, don’t

You don’t owe anyone anything. People will always be there, real friends will always be there, family will always be there, co-workers will do them. If people want your time and energy, be discerning about who you give it to.

5 Silence

Enjoy 30 mins-1hr of silence every day. You can do whatever you want. Just no noise, no video, no music—tune in to the sound of silence. Most people struggle with silence, but that’s because their minds are running amuck. Take that as a sign to practice it. Silence is remarkably healing. It can liven up your imagination, give you ideas, solutions, or organize your mind. Its is in stillness where you can find a good reset and connection to yourself.

6 Redirect your attention from negative to neutral to positive

Negativity is draining, it will pull you down, out, and drag you around if you don’t put a stop to it. Develop a habit of redirecting from negative thoughts to neutral to positive ones. Asks questions to slow the thoughts down, such as: “Why am I thinking this?” Remember, your thoughts are all an illusion. The illusions you create in your mind when given power can turn into a reality so make sure to create positive ones.

7 Release control of others

Let go of any unnecessary battles. In fact, let them all go. You can’t control people but you can control how you respond. Give your time to advocating for yourself or others. Trying to prove yourself to others is draining. Redirect that energy towards building your confidence, your vision, and supporting yourself.

8 Relax your emotions

Being overly emotional can distract you from staying on track. Be open with your emotions but regulate them. Tune in when they need attention, but if they get intense be sure to take a moment to respond, not react.

9  When you slip up, forgive and move on

Let go of the shame to be perfect or having to get things right. Be ok with messing up and getting it wrong, then move on and make an effort to apply what you learned from the previous situation. Regret and shame are energy vacuums. Shining the light of awareness on them can diminish the beast before it grows.

Women, let's put an end to blowing our energy source. We deserve to have a work-life balance—that feels healthy. We can work in moderation and play in moderation. So pace yourself. Energy is infinite but we have a limited source of it every day. We have to tackle any resistance that may come up before it sucks up what we have to give.

Here are 7 signs your energy is very imbalanced and 7 solutions to fix it:

1 If you are tired, go to sleep.

2 If your moods are going from 0 to 100, you need rest.

3 If your body is hurting, rest it.

4 If your mind is racing, minimize your activities, social media, and sit in silence.

5 If your anxiety is running high, find something to do with your hands, put singular attention into on activity.

6 If your body feels off, eat lots of fruits, veggies, drink water, and herbal drinks.

7 If you are so tired you find yourself staring off in a daze, sit and journal.
